We moved to Gibraltar from the UK originally due to a good employment opportunity. Once here, we really enjoyed the lifestyle and rather than continuing to rent, we really wanted to look to buy.
A property had caught our eye which was ideal, everything we wanted, but we were really unsure if or how we could finance it.
Our situation was awkward as we ideally didn’t want to sell our former UK home to buy, which left us outside of normal buying criteria of selling a property to finance a new one. Also we couldn’t meet the standard terms advertised for buying the off plan unit and didn’t understand the process and how maybe it could work for us. It seemed quite hopeless on both fronts and we almost gave up.
After speaking to Carrie, we felt encouraged as she was able to liase with the developer for our particular situation to see if a bespoke deal could be negotiated for the purchase. Not only did this happen but the developer also was able to alter the property plans to incorporate a re-design in line with our personal requests, giving us a unique and stunning family home.
It was the same with the finance situation. What we were asking for was a non standard option, for which we did not know how it was possible for a bank to assist us, who to approach or how to ask. Carrie re assured us that the bank may be able to grant this type of request if we could meet their criteria and put us in touch with a Bank who indeed were able to assist.
This is not just the service of an estate agent, but knowledge and experience that has realised a dream for us.
